It seems that the Man takes things seriously only when he is about to perish. We as society, in general, seem to want to always live on the edge, the materialistic edge as opposed to ethical edge. It is sad to see that we only wake up when we are pushed to the corner.

Smart innovative executives have figured out how to take such insights and turn it into a new business model.

Best innovators have a unique ability to connect dots or see what others cannot easily see. They are extremely inquisitive, especially when systems are breaking down.

The banking system (along with many other systems such as education, political, etc.) are all breaking down and the Man is being pushed to the corner.

What can we learn? What can an innovator learn?

One solid example is the Tridos Bank of Netherlands. It has been around for 30 years with over 300,000 global clients. It is amongst five banks in Spain that is growing at an amazing pace to attract consumers that demands ethical investments and transparent and moral banking services.

Tridos and four other such banks in Spain, only invests in the real economy, finances projects related to sectors such as renewable energies and ecological agriculture, and holds social justice to be its own particular Bible.

We also have a heart and body, yes? Then one could argue that an organization, collectively, has a heart and body, also.

And, if an organization has a mind, heart, and body, it must have a soul!

For human beings, the “mind-body-heart-soul” connection is the primary differentiation for long term health and longevity. Might this also be true for an organization?

Could this, in fact, be what makes one company different from its largest competitor?

I think so. To me, it seems that the mind is the key to “mindfulness.”

Just as human beings limit most of their progress because they don't like to 'change', organizations also develop such 'mind-lessness'.

This limits our capacity to explore more fully our innate potential within. I liken it to breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in is what we learn; breathing out is our creative and innovative “output”. This same mind is constantly craving for various sensual short-term, give me the pill, quick pleasures, leading to bondage with the external world (customers, revenue, profits, etc.).

This organizational mind is fickle in nature, just like the human mind, treacherous and hard to control - leading to bad habits.

Bad habits, leads to bad culture. Bad culture, leads to bad character. Bad character leads to organizational demise.

If our journey starts with controlling the individual mind, then the organizational mind will be cultivated organically, from within.

HeartShip #1: Customer Service - Work or Worship?

Do you believe deep down that the reason for our birth and life on the Earth is to only render service to society as a sacred duty?

Do you believe that it is important to do whatever small service we may do, if we do it in the right spirit, serving with no thought of self and with sacrifice, we shall be doing something commendable and worthwhile?

If you are like me, an act of service by itself may be a small thing. This is especially true for those who are so full of life - to feel so close to 'death' without being anywhere near the physical trauma whatsoever. You might be thinking that this is an uncommon experience. But quite the contrary. It is not an uncommon phenomena, irrespective of gender or the era one is born in, in our global community. The human spirit and minds are now wearing tiresome "life-clothing" in a self-imposed state of developmental inertia.

Whatever does not evolve and grow, eventually begins to decay and die. It is a fundamental law of human nature, a transgression of which has dangerous repercussions. Any one of the 12 million species on our mother Earth, human beings one of them, does not evolve or use its innate creative energy force every moment of the day, it will feel death-like symptoms - unconsciously.

There must always be something, some purpose, some goal, some yet unattained objective for the human mind to grasp and hold on to, rescuing itself from the vast depth of darkness. It is for this reason that the already 'alive' dare not stop in their quest for continual self-improvement, much less those who are yet to actualize even an ounce of their innate potential.

Those who dream life here and now with zest, and dream of life after death, are never likely to fall into inextricable frames of depression held down by an underperforming mind.

No matter who, everyone wants to achieve and create - something, everyday. When one stops to want to innovate and create, journey towards self-inflected death-region of the inner terrain called depressions and stress begins.

Stop. Don't disengage with the inner warrior in your game of life.

Life is a game - play it. Play it with passion. When one plays the inner game with the external sensory world, life begins to feel alive. The bridge between the inner and the external world is what I am most fascinated with. Like any other bridge, it was built long time ago - when I was born. I have realized that the real game of life is on the travels of this bridge.

My journal and views of the world will mostly be seated on this bridge - as a co-architect, engineer, worker, spectator, but mostley as a fellow journeyman - just like you.

This bridge connects my inner world to the many external pathways, highways and destinations. One of those destinations is my work-life. The Place where we all spend more then 50% of our waking life.

I have chosen to spend much of my life to be alive at this destination we call 'work' as the greatest next challenge in my life's journey. Being alive at work, without hesitation, is the greatest mystery I am driven to conquer.

I will attempt to journal as I attempt to conquer this exhilarating mystery and the master formula to the question - What does a Living Organizations feel like?

Want to be fully alive at work? or help create a remarkable work culture that has never been created?

If so, please join me on this journey as we co-create new possibilities for each other where none existed before!

No dream, no goal.

   No goal, no purpose.

      No purpose, life empty.

          Life empty, death nearby.

-Jatin DeSai, September 17, 2006

Body - Nature - Eternal Source

Jatin’s World View – April 1, 2005

                SOURCE

     MAN NATURE & SOCIETY

The Creator, God, created the creation.
